A couple of short stories
I may not be a great writer, but I do have a creative streak that needs an outlet from time to time. These two stories are what I consider the best example of my work., but there will be more to come soon. I hope you enjoy them. I converted the stories to XML formatted with CSS. I've included links to XML DTD and CSS files on the code page.
The Genie and the LoserThis story came to me one day when I saw a cable box spelling out a message on the LED display. The message was "Please contact your cable provider", but when I saw the please I was expecting it to be followed by help me. I decided to write about that message and what would happen.
That Awful DreamI had a very disturbing nightmare that I couldn't stop thinking about. I read that a helpful method to overcome a nightmare was to write it out, but add a positive ending. I reworked the story several times and with each revision the nightmare became less disturbing. Now I consider it one of my better works.
